IL CASTELLO DI ATLANTE PARTICIPATES TO "KALEVALA PROJECT"
Marco
Bernard, of the progressive Finnish magazine "Colossus Magazine" has proposed to Il Castello to
participate to the KALEVALA project. The project foresees the involvement of 19 progressive European and North American groups; it is been given charge to each group to put in music one chapter of the poem. All the compositions will be therefore inserted in a triple CD that should be published at the end of the 2002. The Chapter 10, entitled "Ilmarinen forgia il Sampo" ("Ilmarinen forges the Sampo"), is been assigned to Il Castello; it narrate the deeds of a skilled blacksmith, Ilmarinen, that is one of the characters of the poem, whom, with a deception, is been taken from his native country to the northern extremity of the Lapponia to forges an extraordinary utensil in change of the promise to have a very handsome young girl in bride. Ilmarinen, thanks to his ability, create the utensil, the magic Sampo, but his efforts aren't compensated because the young girl refuses to get married him. We are really very proud to be present into a so important initiative and we haven't had any problem to approach us to the Kalevala poem. In fact the fabulous and spellbound world where the narration take place, has immediately captured us because it is very near to the fantastic figures that for a long time populate Il Castello. |
